Test Kitchen Dip Swap

The official start of summer may still be some days away, but that doesn’t mean the potlucks and the barbecues haven’t already started! Last year, we kicked off the summer in the Test Kitchen with a Test Kitchen Salad Swap. It was so much fun, that I wanted to try something similar this year. And so, today, I bring to you the results of the:

TEST KITCHEN DIP SWAP!

But before I show you what everyone made….

I have to admit, part of my motivation for making this a dip swap was that I wanted to share a dairy-good recipe with all of you for June Dairy Month. I feel like every time I walk down the dairy aisle there’s some new milk, cheese, or yogurt to try out, which is awesome because I love trying new things! But it’s not just about trying new things – it’s also about using some of your favorite dairy items to make new things. That’s why I want to start you off with this amazing dip recipe made with some dairy favorites:

Loaded Ranch Dip

Step One: Gather all of your ingredients. For this one you’ll need plain yogurt, cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, red bell pepper, corn, shredded cheddar cheese, crispy-cooked bacon, and a scallion.

Step Two: Then, you’ll just add your yogurt, cream cheese, and ranch dressing to a bowl and mix it until its smooth.

Step Three: Once it’s all mixed up, stir in chopped bell pepper and corn.

Step Four: Transfer your dip to a serving bowl (if you didn’t already make it in the serving bowl) and top it with the remaining ingredients – cheese, bacon, and scallion.

Loaded Ranch Dip Close-Up

I can’t resist getting up close like this, especially when there’s cheese and bacon involved!

Step Five: Place your finished dip in the refrigerator for at least an hour, so it can firm up a bit.

When it’s time – just grab the chips or the veggie sticks and DIP IN! (See what I did there?)

Loaded Ranch Dip

I hope you’ll give this one a try because it was such a hit in the Test Kitchen. I mean, who doesn’t like a good ranch dip, especially when it’s loaded with so much goodness?

And now, I present to you the dips made by some of our participating Test Kitchen crew members. There’s something here for everyone!

As you can see, we had quite a nice variety of dips to enjoy – everything from savory to sweet. Why not make one of these for your next potluck?

Take my advice – check out what’s going on in the dairy aisle and try something new or try making something new with something you already love. It’s easy to get inspired by the dairy aisle! Chances are, you’re going to discover something delicious. Now, I’m all about a little friendly competition, so I’d love to know…

Which of these dips appeals to you the most?

This conversation is sponsored by National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association. The opinions and text are all mine. For more recipes inspired by the dairy aisle, check out www.EasyHomeMeals.com.
